Do I need to make an appointment to look around?
Yes, please contact us on 01753 645500 or email admin@millwoodhousenursery.co.uk to make an appointment to have a tour around our nursery.
What are the staff ratios for each age group?
In the Babies & Toddlers - Caterpillars Group:
- Under 2 years the staff ratio is 1:3
- 2-3 years the staff ratio is 1:4
In the Pre-School - Butterflies Group:
- 3-5 year the staff ration is 1:8
What are your session times?
Our core sessions Monday to Friday are;
- Full day - 8:00am - 6:00pm
- Morning session - 8:00am - 1:00pm
- Afternoon session - 1:00pm - 6:00pm
We are also available for early morning sessions starting at 7:30am - please contact us to discuss fees.
What meals do you provide for my child?
We provide the children with freshly prepared meals for;
- Breakfast
- Lunch
- Tea
Plus morning and afternoon snacks.
Will my child have a Key Worker?
Yes, your child will be appointed a Key Worker who will keep a schedule of his/her progress ready to discuss with you at any time.
Is there a settling in period for my child?
Yes, for 2 hours (free of charge) within 1 week of your child's planned start date.
What should my child bring to Nursery from home?
- Formula milk & bottles
- A bag with spare clothes (labelled)
- Sun cream
- Wellies & slippers
Can my child have a nap?
Yes, we have both cots and beds for the children to nap in during the day.
Do you take the children out of nursery premises and if so what is the staff ratio?
Yes we do, but we will always ask for parents' permission first and the staff ratio on outings is 1:2.
How is my child's development tracked?
We follow the EYFS curriculum. All activities are age appropriate and individually planned to further your child's development.
Each child will have their own learning journal and development chart.
What if our routine at home is different to the nursery's routine?
With all babies we follow your home routine and then they gradually adapt to the nursery routine.
Do you accept childcare vouchers, how do I claim my 30 hours free childcare, can I use my tax free childcare?
As an OFSTED approved nursery, we are registered to offer places to those families entitled to Government Funding, Tax Free Childcare and Childcare Vouchers. Please contact our Nursery Manager on 01753645500 / 01753646019 or email admin@millwoodhousenursery.co.uk for more information.
How will my child be kept safe whilst at nursery?
We believe that the security of your child is paramount and ask that parents provide suitable identification if someone else is collecting their child. We will always call the parent to check before releasing a child to someone we don't know.
Our building and garden are safe and secure for the children.
